“Investigating Judge David E. French in the Palm Beach Probate Court.
John Pacenti is a brave Palm Beach Post Staff Writer who writes about corruption at the South County Courthouse in Palm Beach County.
It all started with Elizabeth Savitt who was a professional tennis player and became a professional guardian after marrying the current Judge Martin Colin. Families have complained about double billing and the sending of disputes to court for fees.
Most of Elizabeth’s cases were decided by Judge David E. French. He was a friend and colleague of Judge Martin Colin. Many cases involved estates worth millions of dollars.
Savitt pursued senior’s money even after their deaths. He took $30,000 in one probate matter without court approval, with no apparent justification except that it was “held in trust”.
Family members claim they have exhausted their savings fighting Judge David French and her family.

Jeffrey Colbath, Chief Justice of Palm Beach County, stated in an email to The Palm Beach Post, that he was in fact-finding mode. He “is preparing for appropriate changes to address concerns.”

A similar case was heard before Judge David French. Fees of $183,811.48 were paid to Richman Greer’s friends. Their client Peter Halle was in violation of Florida laws for over eight years. The Richman Greer lawyers had been aiding and abetting Halle since 2008. However, the outrageous fees were still paid to them.

Jason Halle was both a qualified beneficiary and a qualified disturbutee of the Edward Halle Trust.
August 2007 was the date of termination and disbursement of Edward Halle Trust. Peter Halle, the Trustee, broke the trust and ignored its instructions. The powerful Richman Greer law firm, which is close to Judge David E. French, hired him 10 lawyers. Richman Greer lawyers helped him continue to violate Florida law and breach the Trust.
Judge French ruled against qualified beneficiary and qualified distributee, which had never been challenged. He also paid Richman Greer $183,811.48.

It is a great relief that John Pacenti, an incredible Palm Beach Post Staff Writer, has managed to bring to the attention of the public the corruption at the Palm Beach Probate Court as well as the pain of the families who have been affected by it.
In a democracy where law, order and justice are dependent upon them, corrupt judges do not belong.
